EVOLVE 2027 Guided Goal Setting Journal
Design your 2027 with intention and clarity. EVOLVE is a guided yearly planner and personal growth journal that helps you close out the year behind you, define goals that actually matter, and stay aligned across every part of your life. Grounded in motivation psychology and softened by philosophy and spiritual practice, EVOLVE plans the planning — so all you have to do is show up.
Now in its second edition: 163 pages, rebuilt with a year of reader feedback.
I built EVOLVE after realizing that traditional agendas with empty weekly spreads weren't enough. We constantly overestimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can do in a year — and a blank agenda asks you to plan every week from scratch, which leaves you exhausted before the work begins. EVOLVE gives you a structured flow that tells you what each part of the year is for, so you're never staring at an empty page.
Guided yet flexible. Every section includes thought-provoking prompts grounded in psychology and mindfulness. Some days you'll write paragraphs; other days a single line. Both are enough.
Holistic life design. This isn't just about work or appointments. Think of your life as a lake fed by many rivers — health, work, love, rest, creativity. When a few of those rivers get blocked, one part floods while the rest run dry. EVOLVE helps you see it, so you no longer feel bad without knowing why.
Built on research that works. The monthly Intention Journal walks you through contrasting what you want with what stands in the way, then planning for the obstacle before it arrives — a method drawn from decades of published motivation research, including work I assisted on at NYU's Motivation Research Lab.
Two versions of every habit. Most habits don't die from lack of motivation. They die because the version you designed only works on your best days. The Habit Menu has you set a high bar and a low bar for every habit — read a chapter → read one page; run 5k → put on your shoes and walk to the corner. A check counts either way. Showing up is the win.
Built-in accountability. A yearly Resolution Tracker, a monthly Habit Tracker, and a two-page End of Month Review keep you honest about where your time and energy actually go.
Alignment snapshots. The Circle of Life appears five times across the year — January, April, July, October, and December — asking you to rate how aligned you feel across mind, body, relationships, work, and rest. If one area is being neglected, you'll catch it and gently course-correct.
Permission to fall off. There's a whole page for the moment you open this in April with January still half-empty. Don't backfill. Don't start over. Turn to today's date and pick up there. The streak was never the point.
No more blank page anxiety. EVOLVE tells you exactly what to focus on at each step. From guided annual review questions to labeled monthly spreads, you're never left wondering how to organize your time.
New in the 2027 Edition
If you used EVOLVE 2026, here's what changed. Most of the reflection questions stayed — you told me they worked. These are the additions:
Anatomy of a Good Day — instead of prescribing an ideal morning, you look backward at three genuinely good days and find what they had in common.
The Habit Menu, rebuilt around the high bar / low bar system and a cue line: after I ___, I will ___.
A redesigned Intention Journal with "What I'm saying no to" (a habit, a commitment, or a story you keep telling yourself) and a goal → next step → ideal self table.
Good Things — a page just for noticing. Not everything in this book is about becoming better.
If You Fell Off — the page I wish every planner had.
A tighter End of Month Review, now two pages instead of three, closing the loop on the if-then plan you made at the start of the month.
Notes to Self — a final page that turns the end of this book into the beginning of the next one.
Is EVOLVE Right for You?
EVOLVE is designed for anyone hungry for growth and clarity. If you recognize yourself below, this was made for you:
The Self-Improver. You're on a personal growth journey and you love journals, trackers, and mindfulness tools.
The Overwhelmed Planner. You have big dreams and no idea where to start. EVOLVE breaks the process down and keeps your intentions alive past February.
The Busy Professional or Student. Juggling work, studies, or family? EVOLVE brings a calm structure to a full life — and helps you prioritize without losing sight of your wellbeing.
The Creative Soul. Writer, artist, entrepreneur with a passion project? The goal preparation pages turn big ideas into action steps, and there's room for vision boards, mood boards, and mind maps.
The Seeker of Balance. Feeling off-balance or stuck? The prompts ask you to tell the truth about where you are and where you want to be — and to close the gap gently.
New to journaling or goal-setting? Perfect. You don't need goals figured out to start. By the time you finish the "Looking Ahead to 2027" exercises, you'll have a vision. This journal meets you where you are.
A Journey from Reflection to Action
EVOLVE is structured in sequential sections that build on each other. Here's the flow:
1. Begin Here Author's Note, How to Use This Journal, A Little About Me, Mind Map, Vision Board, and Anatomy of a Good Day. You start by getting your bearings — who you are right now, and what a good day actually looks like for you.
2. Reflect & Set Your Year Twenty-five guided questions on Reflecting on 2026, then thirteen on Looking Ahead to 2027. You'll categorize your resolutions, build a mood board, work through the Goal Preparation pages (goal, why, metrics of success, action steps — one spread per goal), and map it all onto a Year Timeline. (Tip: take your time here. This part brings closure to the old year and reveals the patterns that will shape the new one.)
3. Your Tools The pages you'll return to all year: Resolution Tracker, Habit Menu, Good Things, Future Me Problems, Year in Review, How to Use Your Month, and If You Fell Off.
4. Your Months — January to December Every month gives you:
Monthly View — key dates, anchors, priorities
Intention Journal — your intention word, how you want to feel, what you're saying no to, and a plan for when it gets hard
Gratitude Journal — small joys, a self-care check-in, and this month's affirmations
Habit Tracker — habits tied to your goals, tracked at whichever bar you can reach
End of Month Review — tone, joy, who you leaned on, what you're leaving behind, and whether your if-then plan held
Plus Circle of Life in January, April, July, October and December, and a three-page Mid-Year Review after June to celebrate wins, adjust goals, and refocus the second half.
5. Keep for the Whole Year Reading List, Movie List, Travel Board, Memories, Resets, Self-Care Bingo, and Reading Bingo — twelve months of nudges toward new genres, new voices, and new ideas. (Yes, we also have a book club.)
6. Close the Year A closing letter, and Notes to Self — three things you're proud of, three things you'd tell the version of you who started this book, one thing you're carrying forward, one thing you're finally leaving behind.
Using EVOLVE is simple: follow it page by page and don't worry about perfection. Some weeks you'll skip. That's fine. This is a tool to serve you, not homework. Consistency matters more than perfection — and the beauty of a guided planner is that there's always a structure to come back to.
Meet the Author – My Story & Why You Can Trust EVOLVE
EVOLVE wasn't created by a faceless corporation. It came out of my own struggle to find direction and balance, and I built it for myself before I built it for anyone else.
My background is in motivation psychology. I worked as a research assistant at New York University's Motivation Research Lab, and I spent years studying how our attention and wellbeing are shaped in a hyper-connected, technology-driven world. Alongside that I studied philosophy and spirituality — especially how mindset builds a life aligned with your values. EVOLVE is the merging of all of it: psychology, philosophy, technology, and the human desire to live with intention. That blend is why the journal is grounded in real science (goal-setting theory, habit formation, mental contrasting and implementation intentions) and still soft enough to actually want to open.
But credentials aside, what matters is that I tested this system on myself first. I began building it eight years ago, during one of those seasons where time felt too fast and moving forward felt impossible. I had too many goals and no system to rely on. What I ended up with was a structured flow of reflection and planning that changed my life.
Using it, I:
finished writing two books that had long been dreams of mine
stayed on top of my health goals, including rehabilitating a chronic wrist injury
managed big life transitions — including moving across countries — by always coming back to one question: is my environment supporting who I want to become?
learned to live truthfully, which meant having the courage to change what felt misaligned instead of tolerating it for another year
The 2026 edition was the first one I shared publicly. What came back from readers was that the flow worked — that goals they'd carried for years finally moved. So for 2027 I kept most of what you told me was working and added what was missing: the habit system that survives a bad week, the page for when you fall off, the space to notice good things that have nothing to do with self-improvement.
When you buy EVOLVE, you're not just buying a planner. You're getting a system built by someone who needed it first. I poured my heart into this in the hope that it becomes your companion this year — the thing that keeps you anchored each month, steady through the winds, and connected to the person you're becoming.
It's called EVOLVE because growth is an ongoing journey. You're not changing into something new. You're evolving into the person you already know you can be. I'm right there with you, cheering you on with every page.

EVOLVE 2027 is a dated yearly planner built for the 2027 calendar year. The months run January through December 2027 in order, with real weekday grids, and some sections refer to 2027 by name. It isn't dated down to the day, so there's no wasted space if you miss a stretch. For the fullest experience, start in December 2026 with the reflection section — but if you find it mid-year, there's a page waiting for exactly that.
-
Yes — and it'll feel familiar. Most of the reflection questions carried over because they worked. What's new is structural: the Habit Menu with its high bar / low bar system, a redesigned Intention Journal with a built-in plan for obstacles, a tighter end-of-month review, a table of contents, and several new pages. See the "New in the 2027 Edition" section above for the full list.
-
Absolutely — in fact it's built for people who aren't sure yet. The early sections walk you through figuring it out: what matters to you, what you want more of and less of, and what would make 2027 amazing. Even if you're starting from "I feel like I need a change," EVOLVE will help you turn that into concrete focus areas. Think of it as a guided self-discovery process. You do not need to be a Type-A planner person.
-
Both.
Physical paperback: Order through Amazon and they'll print and ship it to you. Print-on-demand means each copy is made fresh when you order — no backorders, no waiting.
Digital PDF: Download it immediately after purchase. Ideal if you prefer writing on a tablet, or want to print a few favorite pages at home.

Not at all. Most of the work happens once, at the start of the year. After that you're looking at a few minutes a week and a slightly longer sit-down at the end of each month — and even that stretches to whatever you want to give it. You set the pace. There's no guilt here. The journal is meant to support you, not become another chore.
-
There's no doctrine in EVOLVE and nothing supernatural to believe in. When I say the journal has a slightly spiritual tone, I mean it encourages mindfulness, gratitude, and finding meaning in your ordinary days — practices that help regardless of what you believe. The backbone is psychology. Interpret the questions however fits you. If you're open to self-reflection, you'll be comfortable here.
-
Then you fall behind, and you pick up again. There's a page in the journal dedicated to this exact moment. Don't backfill, don't start over, don't apologize to a notebook. Blank pages aren't failure — they're proof you were busy living. One line is enough to be back.
